Congratulations to iyada, winner of the Tilted Gaming Season 3 Riftbound Leaderboard! He closed the season in first place with 100 points, 28 wins and a 67% win rate.

The Viktor Game Plan

iyada played Viktor more than any other champion during Season 3. Comfort and consistency made Viktor a natural choice, but the ability to quickly blitz points gave the deck its competitive edge.

“I can blitz points out and win quickly or lose quickly. The opening hand isn’t too important because I’ll never miss a two-drop.”

Learning a New Game

Because Riftbound is still young, every match can reveal something new. iyada sees it as a game with strong skill expression, where understanding both decks and the exact rules language matters.

Biggest Lesson Since Spiritforged
“The most important thing I’ve learned is to think through how often I de-ramp my runes, so I don’t hurt my future turns too much.”

The Season’s Key Combination

Imperial Decree and Bellows Breath formed the combination that helped iyada escape difficult situations. Imperial Decree could also open the door for Recruit tokens to attack one by one and create a double score from six points to eight.

“Imperial Decree plus Bellows Breath bails me out of most bad situations.”

Friends Make the Best Matches

Rather than choosing one specific game, iyada remembered the matches against his friends most fondly. Those games gave both players an opportunity to see how much they had improved, regardless of who won.

Reading the Meta

Asked about the recent Stacked Deck ban and the competitive field, iyada felt the ban brought purple closer to parity with other color combinations. From the Viktor side, he views Jayce Aurora as manageable, while LeBlanc and Irelia remain difficult matchups.

“Blue and yellow isn’t the strongest color combination, so I have to put in extra preparation to figure out how to deal with the meta decks.”

Advice for New Riftbound Players

It’s okay to lose.

“You should lose early and often so you can figure out what you can do better with your deck. Commit staple color cards to memory so you don’t walk into most matchups blind.”

Product Availability

iyada praised Tilted Gaming for keeping Riftbound product available and said VIP Discord notifications help him know when new inventory is arriving.

Community Shoutouts

iyada thanked Richard, Anthony, Brian and Jose; Michael for helping clarify rules; friends Chris, Alexi, Sabers, Nick and Matt; and his wife, Steph, for supporting his weekly play and sometimes joining in.

The Title Defense

Viktor Is Always Ready

“Hopefully I can defend the title. If I can’t get any new Legends to work well, there’s always Viktor.”
