Rimeru Claims the Season 3 Crown
From Red Ace to Blue Rocks, Rimeru’s season was defined by adaptation, hard-earned matchup knowledge and the drive to become Tilted Gaming’s Pirate King.
Congratulations to Rimeru, winner of the Tilted Gaming Season 3 One Piece Leaderboard! His championship run began with an underrepresented Red Ace strategy and evolved as new cards, leaders and matchups entered the game.

Rimeru played Red Ace from OP16 for most of Season 3. He enjoys finding powerful leaders that are underrepresented at Tilted Gaming, and Ace fit that description while providing a more direct game plan.

As the season progressed, a new One Piece set gave Red Ace additional tools while introducing other leaders that caught Rimeru’s attention. That eventually led him to Blue Rocks, the deck he is piloting now.

Outside of what Rimeru described as the nearly impossible Rocks versus Mihawk matchup, Rocks versus Kaido became one of his greatest challenges. Early games felt unwinnable, but he refused to accept that result.
With help from Mac and Nate, two skilled Kaido players, Rimeru played the matchup repeatedly and studied insight from high-level Rocks pilots online. The work paid off at locals when he defeated both Mac and Nate in consecutive, extremely close games.
Favorite Moment of Season 3
“I remember the pride and accomplishment I felt after winning both matches. I had struggled so much to learn the matchup, so earning two wins back to back was very cathartic.”

Rimeru enjoys that a wide range of leaders can currently find success, but he identified Dracule Mihawk as the biggest source of frustration. In his view, Mihawk’s ability to repeatedly clear and freeze the board leaves opponents with limited counterplay and makes it difficult to establish any presence.
When asked about the announced October ban, Rimeru felt banning the leader itself was somewhat heavy-handed, although he was personally happy to avoid the matchup as a Rocks player. He also believes Mihawk’s broad strength and leader text could restrict the design of future Slash leaders and powerful green cards.

Rimeru recommends building strong fundamentals through consistent practice and by studying videos from experienced content creators and professional players.
Play enough games to recognize common lines, matchup patterns and mistakes.
Learn from strong content creators and professional players who explain their decisions.
Talk with opponents after the match and ask where a different decision could have helped.

Starting in October, Tilted Gaming is adding a second One Piece locals day on Sunday. Rimeru is excited for another opportunity to compete and hopes the additional day continues to grow the store’s One Piece community.
Crew Shoutout
Rimeru thanked the entire Tilted One Piece community for the games and banter, with special recognition for Mac, Nate, Will, Josh, Jesse, Jose and Richard for all the extra practice sessions and repetitions that helped him improve.
Season 4 Challenge
“It will be more difficult to stay at the top with the additional locals day and the new competition it may bring, but I welcome the challenge. I’m ready to hold my spot as Tilted’s Pirate King!”
