The Champion’s Deck

Water Assassin Merlin

For most of Season 3, Minfae played Water Assassin Merlin. His reason for choosing the deck was simple: Merlin is his favorite pink champion.

The deck’s difficult matchups were not something he tried to avoid. They were part of the appeal.

“All my matchups are bad, but it’s always fun to see how they turn out. The challenge itself is what makes this deck fun to play.”

Match of the Season

Assassin Merlin vs. Assassin Merlin

Minfae’s favorite Season 3 match was a Water Assassin Merlin mirror against Kevin, known on Omnidex as Itrius#2237. Kevin summoned a massive rock, and the match turned into a memorable back-and-forth battle.

“Kevin summoned a big rock, and the back and forth was really fun.”

Why Grand Archive?

Depth, Variety and a High Skill Ceiling

For Minfae, Grand Archive stands apart because of its high skill ceiling and the variety of viable deck styles. Although the game has a steeper learning curve than many other TCGs, he believes it can still be enjoyed casually.

“The high skill ceiling is what keeps me wanting to play, and the art is always nice!”

Growing the Community

Helping New Players Learn

When asked how Tilted Gaming could introduce more players to Grand Archive, Minfae suggested organized learn-to-play sessions led by members of the community.

“I think if we organize learn-to-play sessions, we can properly teach people how to play and hopefully get them hooked. We have people in the community who would love to help out!”

Community Shoutout

Thank You, Itrius

Minfae gave a special shoutout to Kevin, Itrius#2237, for helping establish the Grand Archive community at Tilted Gaming and showing up every week.

“Even though locals are on a hiatus, I know you guys are bringing it back with the love and support it deserves, and we are ready for it!”

Looking Ahead

Grand Archive Returns for Season 5

Grand Archive will take a break from the leaderboard during Season 4, but Minfae plans to return and defend the title when the game comes back for Season 5.

“I love this game and every opportunity to play it. Let’s get Grand Archive firing off every week and go big for Season 5 when it returns!”
