Season 0 of the One Piece Leaderboard represents another key chapter in Tilted Gaming’s first-ever leaderboard rollout. Across the season, players competed during weekly locals, earning points through participation, consistency, and strong finishes.

After a season filled with close matches and high-pressure moments, Macgyver secured Rank #1, becoming the first One Piece Leaderboard Champion at Tilted Gaming.

After finishing at the top of our very first One Piece leaderboard season, we sat down with Macgyver to talk about the pressure, the fun, and what keeps him coming back.

 

🏆 Winner Interview — One Piece Leaderboard Season 0

Q: How do you feel about the win for our very first season, season 0?

A: Extremely happy winning this very first season. Had me very nervous in critical matches with my number 1 spot on the line.

Q: Have you done any other leaderboard style competition at other Local Stores?

A: I have not done any other leaderboard style competitions. This was a very unique experience and it was a lot of fun as it brought some slight competitiveness to these locals with it still being somewhat friendly and casual.

Q: What kept you motivated and coming back to secure 1st place?

A: Apart from just having fun with all the other regular players, the grand prize of 1st place was very enticing.

Q: Did you feel like you wanted to keep using the same deck to secure the win and what's your plan for the new season?

A: Honestly the deck that I chose for this season happened to be very fun and I couldn’t help but go back to it. I will definitely be trying out new decks in the next season, but I definitely want to try and make this current deck work well next season also.

Q: Any tips you would like to give out for anyone else wanting to secure 1st next season?

A: I would definitely recommend finding your play style. Choosing a top meta deck is fine and all, but everyone has their own style of play that works best for them and also finding out what build you are most comfortable with will do you good in the long run.

Q: We are now going into our official first season and will have new seasons quarterly, are you ready to compete again?

A: I am definitely ready to go out and attempt to secure 1st place again and just have fun along the way.

Q: Do you think the leaderboard system makes the local events more competitive or fun?

A: I think the leaderboard system is such a fun and interactive way for all the players to be more invested in local events. It incentivizes people to keep coming back in order to maintain or climb the leaderboard as it prioritizes participation over winning.

Q: As this was our very first season, Do you have any feedback on the leaderboard system?

A: I don’t have any critiques on the current leaderboard system. It’s pretty great and easy to navigate through the website.

Q: Any shoutouts for the season you want to give?

A: Shoutout to Ruben and Julio for the tough matches that make me sweat. Also a big shoutout to Gill for the insanely fun matches.
