Here’s the full interview and Armory recap from Tilted Gaming Cerritos:

🏆 Winner Interview

Q: Being first place tonight at our armory, what hero did you play tonight and why that hero?

A: I played Cindra, Dracai of Retribution. I normally play a hero that isn’t directly on top of the meta, but right now, I want to be the one who presents a problem that my opponent has to answer. It feels good to keep my opponents guessing and forcing them to block me to stop my value engine while I rush them down.

Q: For players struggling with this matchup, how would you recommend they play into your hero? Any cards or strategies they should look for?

A: As tempting as it may be to not block for a turn to try gaining tempo, it’s super important to be patient and keep blocking my Mask of Momentum triggers.

Q: How long have you been playing Flesh and Blood?

A: I’ve been playing for three years now!

Q: What got you into the game originally?

A: I was actually going to do a Magic draft that didn’t fire, and one of the store employees introduced the game to me.

Q: What’s your favorite format Blitz, CC, Sage or Draft?

A: It’s hard to say! SAGE feels exciting right now, since we’re still exploring the format, but I think I’m still a CC gamer.

“ I kinda like where the meta is, haha…”

Q: What was your toughest matchup tonight and why?

A: Absolutely Joel’s Kayo. He has cards spec’ed for this matchup, and has several ways to disrupt my aggression. His hero is also aggressive enough where stumbling on one turn will easily lose the game for me.

Q: What advice would you give newer players coming to Armory events?

A: Reach out to the regulars! We love having more players joining us, and are happy to help get you started! Most of us probably have cards to give as well~

Q: How do you usually prepare for events like these?

A: Not much for an armory, we’re here for the vibes! The most I do is reach out to all of my favorite people and make sure that they’re coming out.

Q: If you could change one thing about the current meta, what would it be and why?

A: I kinda like where the meta is, haha… All three of the dominant decks have weaknesses that can be exploited, but if I had to change something, I’d ask for a way for the heroes that Verdance preys upon to get a way to deal with her. They typically have a better time into either Cindra or Gravey, so that’d open up the field even more.

Q: What hero or deck do you think is underrated right now?

A: Dorinthea feels underrated currently. I’d say Prism as well, but she’s been picking up some of the meta share. Dorinthea has quite a good matchup into 2 of the top 3 decks, and in the right hands, still has the potential to take down events.

Q: Are you planning to stick with this hero next week, or are you brewing something new?

A: I’m going to be sticking with Cindra for the league, but there’s a really cool Dash build that utilizes a Cog package that I’d love to play. It’s just a matter of feeling confident enough in the deck and my piloting skills to take the event down. We *do* have a lot of killers in our locals.
